Terms and Conditions
Thank you for choosing Roof Craft Dunedin. We are committed to providing dependable roofing services across Dunedin and surrounding areas, while ensuring minimal disruption to your home. By proceeding with our services, you accept the following terms and conditions:
1. Health & Safety
- 1.1. All on-site activities will comply with the WorkSafe NZ Health & Safety at Work Regulations 2016.
- 1.2. All installation practices align with the NZ Metal Roofing & Wall Cladding Code of Practice to ensure safety and quality.
- 1.3. Roof Craft Dunedin will supply appropriate edge protection or scaffolding when working at heights over two metres.
2. Deposits and Payments
- 2.1. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking, order materials, and prepare the site.
- 2.2. The remaining balance is payable upon completion of all agreed work.
- 2.3. In the event of delays (e.g. poor weather or subcontractor availability), progress payments may be agreed upon based on completed work stages.
- 2.4. Materials supplied remain the property of Roof Craft Dunedin until the final payment is received in full.
3. Scheduling and On-Site Work
- 3.1. Material lead times can vary from 2 to 16 weeks, depending on profile, grade, and availability, which may influence the start date.
- 3.2. Your home will be an active job site during works. There may be noise, debris, equipment, and restricted access zones in place for health and safety.
4. Property Owner Responsibilities
- 4.1. Please ensure items like furniture, barbecues, potted plants, and ornaments are removed or covered to allow clear site access.
- 4.2. Pets must be secured inside or on a lead. Lawns should be trimmed, and pet waste removed to allow for safe work conditions.
- 4.3. Children must remain indoors during roofing works for safety reasons.
- 4.4. You are advised to notify your home insurance provider of the scheduled works.
5. Structural Issues and Exclusions
- 5.1. If we uncover issues such as damaged rafters, barges, purlins, or fascias, these will be repaired to maintain the integrity of your roof. These may not be visible during the initial inspection and could involve additional costs.
- 5.2. Unless specifically stated in your quote, the following are excluded:
- Installation of insulation (house or garage)
- TV antenna reconnection or adjustment
- Removal or reinstallation of weatherboards or cladding for flashing access
- Painting of cladding, weatherboards, or timber trims
- Replacement of decayed structural timber
6. Waste Disposal and Site Clean-Up
- 6.1. Upon completion, all roofing waste and materials will be cleared from the site.
- 6.2. We will secure materials and maintain weather protection at the end of each workday to the best of our ability.
7. Workmanship and Product Warranties
- 7.1. We stand by our work with a 10-year workmanship guarantee from the completion date.
- 7.2. Manufacturer warranties for materials will be issued once final payment is received. Please allow 3–4 weeks for processing and documentation.
8. Insurance
- 8.1. Roof Craft Dunedin holds insurance that covers the scope of work as outlined in the quote.
- 8.2. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to notify their insurer of the planned roofing project.
9. Liability & Delays
- 9.1. Roof Craft Dunedin is not liable for project delays beyond our control, including weather events, supply shortages, or third-party delays.
- 9.2. The homeowner is responsible for any issues resulting from non-compliance with the responsibilities listed in Section 4.
10. Updates to These Terms
Roof Craft Dunedin may revise these Terms and Conditions as necessary. Any changes will be communicated before works begin.
